Entry into the country
General
If you are a national of an EU country you can enter the Republic of Slovenia with a valid identity card or passport and you do not need a visa or residence permit.
Third-country nationals must obtain a visa or residence permit from a diplomatic mission or consulate of the Republic of Slovenia abroad before entering the country.
For the first three months after entry, you can stay in Slovenia without notification of presence. However, for longer stays, you must obtain a residence registration certificate from the administrative unit of the area where you are staying.
